There’s an bounre timeline going on in this series where Adrian is a youngish-man in book 1, much older in book 2, and then in the upcoming book 3 he’s a teenager again. He’s so busy “controlling” his lust that he can’t see Jess as an actual person—one who may, just possibly, actually know her own father who she lives with and works closely with in his business better than he does.

I want a heroine who doesn’t need to be rescued, because she is smart enough and strong enough to stand side-by-side with the hero. Then one of Sebastian’s ships goes down and a traitor is to blame. She hasn’t felt this way since so-and-so.
The slightly less good news? If not for this, I would have given the book 4 stars. I’ll probably say yes. June 15, Lodd Date: Jess, the heroine, while she had many a TSTL moment, was clever and intelligent but not exactly replete with bon mots.

I was grimacing though all of that. I can get another blanket. In fact, I’m really enjoying this series as a whole. And on page I felt the need for a distinction between them.
